Transatlantic (Day 20) Brussels - Day 1

We arrived late in the afternoon from Barcelona, so our first 1/2 day was about getting settled into our hotel, picking up something for dinner and some supplies for the next few mornings (no breakfast at this hotel, but we did have a kitchennette, so we could fend for ourselves). We went out and about to look around our neighborhood of Sainte Catherine a little bit. We weren't sure where in Brussels to stay - but it turned out that we really liked this area, and would definitely stay here again. We had a full day planned for the next day, so that was it for our introduction to Brussels.

This is the main plaza for Sainte Catherine. Our hotel was right on this plaza - a great location.

The square had a mix of buildings, and many restaurants and bars.

This is a look down the street from our hotel. Nice looking church - but not the main church for the area.

The first of many buildings we saw that had artwork on them.

The streets of our neighbourhood.

Another building with large artwork - though not quite sure what it is.

This is the main church - the Church of Sainte Catherine, and in front is the Place Sainte Catherine. They were just starting to setup for the Jazz Festival that would take place in a couple of days.
