Alaska (Day 6) At Sea

Day 6 - a full day at sea. Time for a tour of the ship. The Solstice is very nicely designed and decorated. In the afternoon we attended a presentation by Captain Tasos about the construction of the Celebrity Solstice. Really interesting, and a lot of fun - he's got a great sense of humour. After the evening's production show, we watched people enjoying the Silent Disco. A relaxing day enjoying various "Celebrity Life" activities.

A quiet corner of the buffet up top. This was our go-to spot for breakfast in the morning.

Just outside the buffet was the oceanview bar, a great place to relax and enjoy the open air.

A nice feature of the Solstice is the covered pool in the Solarium - always accessible regardless of the weather.

Lots of equipment in the Fitness Center. And yes, we did use it several days. (Gotta maintain our stamina for all that great food!)

The Solstice atrium.

The Ensemble Lounge on Deck 5.

The Main Dining Room, with it's wide open ceiling and massive chandelier.

After the production show in the evening we watched people enjoying the "Silent Disco". Everyone wore headphones tuned into one of three channels/genres of music. Fun to watch everyone dancing to different songs. The lights indicated what channel they were listening to, but apart from people singing along to the music, observers had no idea what was being played. This was a real crowd pleaser, and allowed people to "crank it up" without disturbing everyone else.
