Pacific Coastal (Day 1) Vancouver, BC

We had a beautiful, sunny day to sail out of Vancouver. I still think Vancouver is one of the prettiest ports to sail out of. Getting to Canada Place cruise terminal was a breeze - we just walked (about 10 minutes) from home. We were onboard in no time, despite there being 3 ships in port that day. We went at about 2:00pm, and it was no problem at all. We did a quick tour of our ship, Princess Cruise Line's Coral Princess. This is a nice sized ship that has the unique feature of an especially designed stage in the aft Universe Lounge that accommodates their "On The Bayou" show - which is one of our favourite shows.

Outside on the upper deck, with the white roof of the Canada Place convention centre in the foreground and the city in the background.

Looking forward, with the outdoor pool and the North Shore mountains in the background.

The indoor Lotus Pool and hot tubs.

The Sanctuary Pool at the back of the ship. It was a bit too cool this trip to spend any time in the outdoor pools.

Their "Movies Under The Stars" screen.

And we were underway, pulling away from the pier, leaving both the Seven Seas Mariner and the Holland America Volendam still tied up. We would be leading the charge.

The 5 sails of the Canada Place pier, with the city in the background, and the Holland America Volendam now pulling away.

The iconic Lions Gate Bridge, connecting downtown Vancouver with North and West Vancouver. Above the bridge, one of the many seaplanes that flew over us as we passed under the bridge.

The northern most part of Stanley Park known as Prospect Point, with it's lookout at the top of the cliff.
