Our last day on board Norwegian Breakaway was a sea day, and a chance to relax a bit after our busy itinerary, and prepare for the flight(s) back home. This was a truly an awesome trip, with a variety of experiences along the way. Beginning with our Transatlantic Cruise leaving from the modern city of Tampa, on to the old towns in the Canary Islands and Spain, Belgium and then the countries of the Baltic Cruise. We travelled with family and friends throughout the trip and enjoyed experiencing the cities and ports of call with them all.
We really do love the old European cities and old towns and the glimpse of history they provide along with the different cultures, foods and customs. Stand-outs for us on this trip were Barcelona (a favourite Spanish city), Ghent (Belgium) and St Petersburg (Russia). In these cities, and in fact all the ports of call, we would enjoy spending more time. A cruise offers a chance to see many places with the ease and comfort of not having to schlep luggage from one place to the next, but it also limits your time (and experiences) in each place. So then... an excuse to revisit? I hope so. Until then - on to new adventures!
